For me, home cooking is everything. Exploring the food of my family—and more broadly, the food of the Jewish world—has given me a deeper connection to my own history and culture. It has shaped the way I cook: bold, generous, and always with a story to tell.

I’m Avigal, a self-taught chef based in Amsterdam, specializing in Mediterranean and Jewish home cooking. My dishes are rooted in tradition but made to be shared in the here and now—around busy tables, with good wine, good people, and lots of laughter.

Whether I’m catering a private dinner or filling a restaurant table with my signature dips and small plates.

My goal is the same: to create a meal that sets the tone for the entire evening. The kind of spread that invites conversation, makes people slow down, and turns a simple dinner into a memorable experience.

From creamy hummus and roasted vegetables to vibrant salads and rich stews, I build menus that feel generous and effortless. No fuss, just flavor.

I also love working with restaurants to develop new dishes—pairing my dips with seasonal ingredients, adding surprising twists, and helping create menus that feel fresh and exciting without losing that home-cooked soul.
